"Friendly staff,"
Friendly staff, excellent food, nice boat, timely transfers.

Drink prices are in VND on the menu but when you pay at the end, they do it in USD and then convert it to VND so it works out to be a little more expensive. Not sure why they didn't just add it up in VND to start with. They also told us we could buy two drinks during 5-7pm and get the third free. But then when we went to pay they hadn't given us any free - we had to ask them to change it

" very good."
Staff quite attentive and food was very good.

Activities were good, but kayaks in poor repair and paddles not good, also were not offered life jackets when in kayaks (saw other groups wearing them). Rooms quite good but in need of maintenance, eg: our bathroom door did not close properly as magnetic closer was broken

"very nicely decorated."
There was always lots of amazing food that was very nicely decorated. The ship was very clean and appeared well maintained.

Besides Karoake and kayaking there really were no other activities. The tour leaders and staff were nice but there wasn't any official introductions to the crew. It would be nice to know their names and roles as well. I would recommend on arriving to the boat to have a safety briefing and introductions with the welcome drinks.
The drinks onboard the cruise are way overpriced compared to normal Vietnamese prices. Why are the drinks so expensive?? I am sure if they were more reasonably priced we would have drunk more. It's not fair to have to pay for all drinks including water and juice.

Please inform 3 day cruise people beforehand that one day will be spent on a smaller boat and to take money for the pearl farm (if desired). We were told that the earrings were approx $30-40US but in fact the least expensive ones were $80US so we didn't have enough money.
This is a comment in regards to the recent painting of all the boats white. We prefer the original dark brown colour of the boats. The white colour ruins the feel/authenticity of the boat.

"The trip to and from Hanoi was ok."
The trip to and from Hanoi was ok.
THe cruise itself was OK - only OK given the price. It could have been made so much better. The boat was moored in a place which means that guest see niether the sunset nor the sunrise.
The day spent in a small boat travelling to less busy parts of Ha Long Bay was lovely and canoeing into the dark caves was undoubtedly the highlight.of the trip..………………
except that, on the return, the driver dropped us off at the wrong hotel and we did not realise it.
